TotalEnergies announced on March 26, 2025 its final investment decision for six battery storage projects, adding a combined capacity of 221 MW with a total investment of €160 million (approximately $172.8 million US). Construction on these projects is set to begin by the end of 2024, with commissioning expected in early 2026.

It is understood that these battery projects complement TotalEnergies’ power portfolio in Germany, which includes 7 GW of onshore wind and solar under development, of which 200 MW are already installed or under construction, along with 6.5 GW of net offshore wind capacity currently in development.

In addition, the company has 2GW of energy storage capacity under development, including 321MW currently under construction, along with 9 GW of power aggregation capacity managed by Quadra Energy.
