On July 23, 2024, Tesla (TSLA) released its financial report for Q2 2024. According to the report, its energy storage deployments in Q2 reached 9.4GWh, marking a 158% increase compared to the same period last year.
In contrast, the company’s statistics for Q1 2024 were 4.1GWh, while in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year (Q2 2023), it was just 3.7GWh.
Despite primarily being known as an electric vehicle manufacturer, Tesla also produces various energy storage products. The company offers the Powerwall battery and the Megapack energy storage system, capable of storing 12.2 kWh and 3.9 Mwh, respectively.
In April last year, Tesla announced its plan to open a Gigafactory in Shanghai focused on battery production.
