On June 2, South Korea’s Solus Advanced Materials announced that it has signed a copper foil supply agreement with China’s CATL. Under the deal, Solus will supply copper foil products from its Hungary-based factory to CATL’s European plants starting in 2026.
The two companies plan to leverage Solus’ local product competitiveness to explore collaboration opportunities in new product development. Notably, Solus has become the first South Korean copper foil supplier to establish a European partnership with CATL.
CATL has not disclosed further details regarding the agreement. However, the battery giant is actively working to expand its European production capacity to address gaps in localized manufacturing within the region.
