It is reported that Rept Battero has signed a global strategic MoU with Spanish company Ingeteam, aiming to integrate their core technological strengths to provide high-performance energy storage system (ESS) solutions for the global market. Under the agreement, Rept Battero will leverage its advantages in energy storage products and combine Ingeteam’s expertise in power conversion and inverter technology. The collaboration will focus on key markets including Australia, the United States, Britain, Spain, Italy, and Germany, with active efforts to expand market reach and conduct joint branding initiatives.

Additionally, in the Indian market, Rept Battero has formally signed a MoU with Mindra New Energy. The two parties plan to advance a 1GWh battery energy storage system collaboration project locally.

This partnership deeply integrates Rept Battero’s strengths in battery technology and manufacturing capabilities with the Mindra Group’s expertise in system integration, particularly in power conversion systems (PCS) and energy management systems (EMS). Together, they aim to deliver more compatible energy storage solutions tailored to the Indian market.

According to the agreement, the collaboration will focus on three key aspects: first, distributing approximately 150MWh of battery pack solutions; second, supplying around 850MWh of 314Ah battery cells; and third, establishing a 1GWh battery unit assembly line in India. The production line will combine automated and semi-automated manufacturing processes.

The entire project is planned to span approximately 18 months. While aligning with international manufacturing standards, it also supports India’s “Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India)” strategy by promoting the localization of critical battery manufacturing capabilities.

Currently, demand in India’s new energy vehicle and energy storage markets is rapidly expanding. Industry data indicates that India’s battery manufacturing capacity is expected to exceed 100GWh by 2026, with battery demand projected to reach 115GWh by 2030, driven primarily by the growing adoption of electric vehicles and large-scale grid-level energy storage applications.

On the policy front, India’s Ministry of Power has mandated that solar projects include a certain proportion of energy storage systems in their tenders—a measure that has directly amplified market demand. However, constrained by limited local production capacity, India’s battery supply remains heavily reliant on imports. This presents a significant opportunity for international and Chinese energy storage companies to accelerate their entry into the Indian market.
