On April 14, a meeting between Prime Minister Sánchez and Chinese entrepreneurs was held in Beijing. Wu Zuyu spoke on innovation in the energy storage industry and Sino-Spanish green energy collaboration, sharing HiTHIUM’s practical experience in international expansion. He noted that Europe is a crucial market for the global energy transition. Despite challenges such as diverse policy environments and high market entry barriers encountered during expansion, the company’s in-depth assessments of multiple countries led it to conclude that Spain offers distinct advantages in terms of business climate, industrial foundation, and developmental vision.
On April 15, witnessed by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, HiTHIUM signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Strategic Investment Cooperation with the Government of Navarra, Spain. The first phase of the project involves a planned total investment of approximately 400 million euros (around $467 million US) to construct a large-scale energy storage battery and system manufacturing plant in Navarra, Spain.
Industry data shows that HiTHIUM ranked second globally in energy storage battery shipments in 2025, further solidifying its leading position in the sector. Focusing on the key direction of long-duration energy storage, HiTHIUM is accelerating its global footprint, with the European market serving as a pivotal strategic pillar. This partnership represents another critical move in HiTHIUM’s deployment within core European regions and marks a significant step forward in its global localized manufacturing capabilities.
