Porsche, which invested in U.S. silicon anode startup Group14 three years ago, has now become one of its most important strategic partners. Recently, Porsche joined companies including SK Group, Microsoft, and TDK in Group14’s latest funding round, which raised $463 million.
The Series D financing was led by SK Group, aiming to accelerate the mass production and global delivery of Group14’s flagship silicon anode battery material, SCC55. All existing investors—including Porsche Ventures, TDK’s subsidiary ATL, Canada’s OMERS pension fund, Decarbonization Partners, Lightrock Climate Impact Fund, and Microsoft’s Climate Innovation Fund—participated in the follow-on investment. With this round, Group14’s total equity financing has exceeded $1 billion.
