The latest data shows that in September, China’s installed capacity of power batteries reached 36.4GWh, marking a year-on-year growth of 15.1% and a month-on-month increase of 4.4%.

Among these, the installed capacity of ternary batteries was 12.2GWh, accounting for 33.6% of the total installed capacity, while LFP batteries reached 24.2GWh, making up 66.4% of the total. Besides, the rankings of leading enterprises remained unchanged from previous reports, with CATL and BYD maintaining their positions as the top two companies.

It is notable that although CATL retains its position as the top company, its market share has dropped to below 40%.

Meanwhile, the downstream market demand has weakened this year. This will result in an intensifying competition among companies, with weaker companies facing the risk of being phased out.
