Production:
In August, China’s total production of power and other batteries reached 139.6 GWh, up 4.4% month-on-month (MoM) and 37.3% year-on-year (YoY).
From January to August, cumulative production stood at 970.7 GWh, a YoY increase of 54.3%.
Sales:
In August, domestic sales of power and other batteries reached 134.5 GWh, rising 5.7% MoM and 45.6% YoY.
Power battery sales accounted for 73.5% of the total at 98.9 GWh, up 8.5% MoM and 44.4% YoY.
Other battery sales accounted for 26.5% at 35.6 GWh, down 1.4% MoM but up 49.0% YoY.
From January to August, cumulative sales reached 920.7 GWh, a YoY increase of 58.2%.
Cumulative power battery sales were 675.5 GWh (73.4% of total), up 49.7% YoY.
Cumulative other battery sales were 245.2 GWh (26.6% of total), up 87.6% YoY.
Exports:
In August, exports of power and other batteries totaled 22.6 GWh, down 2.6% MoM but up 23.9% YoY, accounting for 16.8% of the month’s total sales.
Power battery exports were 15.1 GWh (66.6% of total exports), up 1.9% MoM and 35.7% YoY.
Other battery exports were 7.6 GWh (33.4% of total exports), down 10.4% MoM but up 5.6% YoY.
From January to August, cumulative exports reached 173.1 GWh, up 48.5% YoY, accounting for 18.8% of total sales during the period.
Cumulative power battery exports were 111.5 GWh (64.4% of total exports), up 30.3% YoY.
Cumulative other battery exports were 61.6 GWh (35.6% of total exports), up 99.0% YoY.
Installed Capacity:
In August, the installed capacity of power batteries in China was 62.5 GWh, up 11.9% MoM and 32.4% YoY.
Ternary batteries accounted for 17.5% at 10.9 GWh, down 0.1% MoM and 10.0% YoY.
Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries accounted for 82.5% at 51.6 GWh, up 14.8% MoM and 47.3% YoY.
From January to August, cumulative installed capacity reached 417.9 GWh, up 43.1% YoY.
Cumulative ternary battery installed capacity was 77.4 GWh (18.5% of total), down 9.7% YoY.
Cumulative LFP battery installed capacity was 340.5 GWh (81.5% of total), up 65.1% YoY.
