Production:
In September, China’s total production of power and other batteries reached 151.2 GWh, up 8.3% month-on-month (MoM) and 35.4% year-on-year (YoY).
From January to September, cumulative production stood at 1121.9 GWh, a YoY increase of 51.4%.
Sales:
In September, domestic sales of power and other batteries reached 146.5 GWh, rising 9.0% MoM and 42.2% YoY.
Power battery sales accounted for 75.5% of the total at 110.5 GWh, up 11.8% MoM and 44.4% YoY.
Other battery sales accounted for 24.5% at 36.0 GWh, up 1.0% MoM and 36.1% YoY.
From January to September, cumulative sales reached 1067.2 GWh, a YoY increase of 55.8%.
Cumulative power battery sales were 786.0 GWh (73.7% of total), up 48.9% YoY.
Cumulative other battery sales were 281.1 GWh (26.3% of total), up 78.9% YoY.
Exports:
In September, exports of power and other batteries totaled 26.7 GWh, up 18.2% MoM and 28.3% YoY, accounting for 18.2% of the month’s total sales.
Power battery exports were 17.6 GWh (66.0% of total exports), up 17.1% MoM and 50.9% YoY.
Other battery exports were 9.1 GWh (34.0% of total exports), up 20.3.% MoM but down 0.5% YoY.
From January to September, cumulative exports reached 199.9 GWh, up 45.5% YoY, accounting for 18.7% of total sales during the period.
Cumulative power battery exports were 129.1 GWh (64.6% of total exports), up 32.7% YoY.
Cumulative other battery exports were 70.7 GWh (35.4% of total exports), up 76.3% YoY.
Installed Capacity:
In September, the installed capacity of power batteries in China was 76.0 GWh, up 21.6% MoM and 39.5% YoY.
Ternary batteries accounted for 18.2% at 13.8 GWh, up 26.5% MoM and 5.2% YoY.
Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries accounted for 81.8% at 62.2 GWh, up 20.5% MoM and 50.4% YoY.
From January to September, cumulative installed capacity reached 493.9 GWh, up 42.5% YoY.
Cumulative ternary battery installed capacity was 91.2 GWh (18.5% of total), down 7.8% YoY.
Cumulative LFP battery installed capacity was 402.6 GWh (81.5% of total), up 62.7% YoY.
