On November 18, an alliance consisting of China Energy International Engineering (Energy China) and Guangdong Electric Power Design Institute officially signed the EPC contract with Meralco for the Terra Phase I West District Integrated Photovoltaic and Energy Storage Project, with Terra being the largest integrated photovoltaic and energy storage power station in Southeast Asia.
Located in the Philippines, the overall plan includes 3.5GW of photovoltaic capacity and 4.5GWh of energy storage capacity. The Phase I project signed this time includes 1.4GW of photovoltaic capacity and 3.3GWh of energy storage capacity, with construction expected to begin in November 2024 and commercial operation scheduled for 2026.
